So 2017 was full of a lot of books!!! Some good, some not so good. So let’s see what books I DNF’d, what books I was disappointed in, and what books I loved!!!
First up… the DNF’s
I just couldn’t get into this story. I think I got about 100 pages in before I stopped. I really wished I liked it because I’ve heard so many people say how much they love the series!
I gave this a go via audiobook. I just couldn’t get into it. I’m going to keep it around to see if I want to try again with reading the physical copy. It’s a middle grade book so my daughter may want to pick it up.
I’ve seen the movie sooo many times, I think it just killed the book for me. I just wasn’t able to get into it. I’ve never read Stephen King before so I thought this would be a good start. Looks like I’ll have to try again in 2018!
I made it half way through the audiobook before I gave up. I was listening just to say I did it. I wasn’t invested in the characters or the story.
Alright… now onto my most diappointed reads of the year!
This book lacked the raunchy details I was expecting! This book also didn’t even get into the dangers of being a call girl or anything like that. Very unrealistic.
This book was mostly about Chris’s childhood. I was expecting, and wanting, more about the time the movie was based off of.
I wanted to love this book! Just look at that cover!!!!! And it’s about Japan and I’m total trash for anything Japan! Alas, I read this book cover to cover and just couldn’t get into it.
Now onto the BEST part! The top books I LOVED this year!
I LOVE this book so much! And I realize it’s because I connect with it on a deep level. This book isn’t for everyone but worth a look!
This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! If you like thriller/mystery books – definitely check this out!
This book gave me ALL the feels!!! I highly recommend the audiobook (narrated by the author and we all know how much I love that).
How did your 2017 reading go? If you did a post or video like this, link it down below! I’d love to check it out!
Until next time bookworms!!!
